RTU Student Testimonials

RTU-VT is a wonderful option for working professionals to further their career in the "online" educational setting. Brent and staff are fully dedicated to making sure I succeed in my schooling and in my career. As a full time working, single mother, RTU makes it possible for me to take the courses I need for my Masters Degree but still work and raise my children. RTU has the highest quality professors available in the medical physics field and I can't say enough about how wonderful the program has been. I would highly recommend RTU to anyone thinking about going back to school and working at the same time. They have become like family to me.

Most RTU instructors are also currently practicing clinicians in this field. Not only do they do an excellent job of teaching the fundamentals but they bring the real-world experience to their lectures. In addition, they do an excellent job of keeping students informed on the latest technologies, treatment modalities, procedures, protocols and regulations.

The staff's ability to deliver an array of complex physical subjects in a more elementary manner coupled with the flexibility via the online component has made a challenging program more manageable. RTU's master programs are among the most clinically oriented programs in the world and a degree from RTU should hold substantial weight in the medical physics community. I am happy and proud to be a part of this university.

I am a student at RTU and in the Medical Physics program. I received a Manufacturing Engineering Technology degree from Eastern Michigan University. The courses in the program are rigorous and challenging but are accompanied by knowledgeable professors and staff. The program has a great clinical basis and will prepare me and make me confident when I start working in the field.
Cara
Hello, my name is Cara. I started at RTU in the fall of 2009 with the hopes of getting my masters in medical physics. It's taken me a little longer than planned due to some undergraduate work I had to complete but, it's now fall of 2011 and I'm almost done!! I'd really like to say it's been a piece of cake but, that wouldn't really be sharing the true story with you. In fact, there are certainly days I find myself singing the Nemo song "Just Keep Swimming" to assist in staying afloat . I have three children consisting of a 6 year old daughter and 4 year old twin boys. I also work full time in Kokomo, IN as a certified medical dosimetrist, certified radiation therapist, and our department's team leader. My plate is definitely full, but I still have time to spend with family and friends because I believe it's a "must" to make that a priority. In fact, last year my whole family went to Disney World and I was able to watch a couple of lectures, scan my homework in at the hotel and turn it in without missing quality time with my husband and kids. My family (especially my husband and parents), have been amazing support to make it possible to juggle everything. We are all looking forward to days of me not juggling family, homework, watching lectures, and work but it helps tremendously to remember that we are going to benefit from this degree in a multitude of ways. In addition to the benefits for my family and I, I can say with complete certainty that all of the knowledge I've gained this far throughout my career and education lend great benefits for the patients I care for now and in the future. The staff at RTU has done everything they can to make sure I've gotten a top notch education without having to sacrifice everything in my life to obtain it. Like I said before, I'm almost done! In December I will be able to walk away with a master's degree and also some incredible lifelong friendships with my peers and the RTU staff. If anyone is considering a degree in medical physics, I would fully recommend they put RTU at the top of their list. Please ask the staff at RTU for my contact information if you have anything you would like to chat with me about. Good luck in your future endeavors!
